Joshua Tree, 1951: A portrait of James Dean premiers 24 May

Well the wait is almost over. Joshua Tree, 1951: A portrait of James Dean will have it's world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival on 24 May. Part period melodrama, part film noir, part 50s road movie Joshua Tree, 1951 is a portrait of screen legend and outsider icon James Dean as you have never seen him before. Joshua Tree, 1951 includes scenes that depict James Dean having sexual encounters with a series of men. The film is written and directed by Matthew Mishory and starring James Preston, Dan Glenn, Dalilah Rain, and Edward Singletary, Jr. Check out the trailer and some set photos below.

I am really looking forward to watching Joshua Tree as I am a fan of James Dean but I do have reservation if James Preston can pull off playing James Dean. After watching the trailer, I have my doubts. He just does not have that presence. Sure he looks better than Dean but something is missing. You know the 'X' factor. Dean had edginess and mystique. Don't know. Maybe Preston is just too pretty :). Hey maybe I will be proven wrong. Gotta watch it first. Preston might have done a fantastic job. Below are some set photos of James Preston channelling Dean. Enjoy.
