On his character in Pitch Perfect
Jesse is a freshmen in college that has his heart on his sleeve. He is comfortable in his own skin and is open to what college life has to offer: namely his co-worker Becca (Anna Kendrick) and joining the all-male, rock star a cappella group ‘Barden Treblemakers.’
On how he prepares for a role
I like to be prepared as possible. The rehearsal process for TV and film generally isn’t comparable to stage so a lot of the preparation rests on your shoulders. Every character requires a different approach. Yet some preparations can be fun. For example, I am about to start film something where I play a bartender so I became certified on my own. Now I can say that. That’s pretty cool.
On his style
I like to look like I accidentally put myself together really well. Mixing up something that is comfortable like a vintage bowling shirt with good fitting Levis is a look I frequent. Yet I try to adapt to wherever I am going style-wise.
