William Inge's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Picnic returns to Broadway in a new production helmed by Sam Gold. Picnic is about Hal, a handsome young drifter who disrupt the lives of everyone he meets in a small Kansas town. It was a huge success when it debuted on Broadway in 1953. The role of Hal was first played by Paul Newman. Newman created a ruckus whenever he appeared onstage as the role requires him to be frequently shirtless.
The new Broadway production stars Sebastian Stan as Hal. Check out some photos of Stan in Picnic after the jump. You have to say he is a mighty fine selection for the role. My gosh, just check out those abs... These abs you can wash your clothes on!!!
Picnic will run from December 14, 2012 to February 24, 2013 at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street). Check out Stan in Picnic below.
